This blue, umbelliferous hydrangea has an intense autumnal colour. The shrub grows in width rather than in height and remains compact. This shrub is useful as a solitary plant, in a flower border, but also as a tub plant. Summer Glow flowers abundantly on 1 year old wood. The flowers of the 'Summer Glow' rise well above the plant, which makes the plant beautiful to look at. The Hydrangea is very winter hardy and can endure a late night frost well, however, it is not evergreen which means the plant loses its leaves during the winter. Prune out the spent flowers in the spring. Depending on the pH of the soil, the plant flowers with large blue or pink umbels.

Care
Hydrangeas do not like drought and need a lot of water, especially in summer. It is best to give the hydrangea a lot of water at once rather than a little every now and then. It can be planted from March to mid-October, either in the open ground or in an ornamental pot, although it grows best in the open ground. When planting, keep a distance of 75 cm between plants. Pruning the plant is best done in March, about 30 cm above the ground. The harder you prune back the hydrangea, the larger the flowers will grow.
